Hello. In my family I am the "computer whiz":) (Yeah right, at least everyone thinks so) My question is: My mother left her computer turned on during a storm and of course now there's no evidence of power on the computer - she asks me to fix it :rolleyes: -- again. Where do I start?

First thing try it with out being plugged into a power strip/surge suppressor.

Then look for a fuse in the pwer suppy (not very many have replaceable fuses).

Then, if you are handy with a muli-meter. start checking to see if the voltages from the power supply are winthin spec.
