Stick your windows start up disk in the floppy, start your pc. The start up disk will install a CD driver. When everything stops put your win98 cd into the cd drive and then change the dirve to the assigned letter for your cd rom, ie F. Then type in install and all should start happening!!!
Hook in and hang loose
i have an upgrade no win on the pc no way to make window folder to install.thax for all the help. i just need to buy new cd if ya think i have to.

You say you have an upgrade? Is this win98? If it is you must have a copy of win95 that you upgraded from? If you do have win95 then you need a startup disk for this, if you cant make one can you get someone to make one for you???

It's setup. Typing install will get you a "bad command or filename" message.
Win95 Installation Process (http://www.pcguide.com/proc/sw/w95inst.htm) is basically the same as win98, but the start up disk works a bit differently. Choose Start Computer With CD ROM Support when booting to the win98 start up disk. The rest of the installation is mostly the same. I also have basic instructions on my site. Quick Guide to A Win98 Fresh Start (http://www.hardwarehell.com/fdisk.htm) is also very good.
