Hi everyone.

My Epson Stylus 740 color started to misbehave and I cured the symptom by re-installing printer and monitor(2). It now works without complaint except that each time after printing, I have to activate the monitor icon to change the defaulted state from "searching" to "ready to print".

Can anyone help please.

Does this happen with all applications that you print from, since it looks like the printing session is not closed out properly. So I just wondered if the application, rather than the printer and its drivers, is at fault.

By searching deeper (inlcuding effect of application), I was able to trace source of trouble to be "over-protective" monitor. I made a note of all settings, re-loaded everything again, cross referred and found that the monitor had been falsely reporting errors and interrupting progress of printing.
