If it was me I would start from scratch. FORMAT/ PARTITION DRIVE/ AND RELOAD WIN 98. ALSO CHECK THAT ALL DRIVES IN SETUP BIOS ARE SETUP RIGHT, eg floppy 1.44Mb.

Start by reseating all the components inside. The video card, sound card, modem, IDE and floppy cacles, memory, and CPU. Also, reseat the power supply cable. If this fails, try to clear the BIOS as per the instructions in the motherboard manual. Hope this helps.

Just bought it? It should be under warranty, take it back and have them make it work. Assuming this is a new, off-the-shelf computer.

AMEN Pete http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif TAKE IT BACK.. + If you get carried away on the inside of that computer, the Mfg. might want to TRY to void the warranty. Dont stand for it....but dont get carried away with tinkering either http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I'm putting a new Fat32 partition in my Head Drive...hope it speeds me up.......

They are giving you the best advice you can get: take it back - use warranty!

I just was helped by this forum day ago. I couldnt use warranty: mine expired 3 weeks ago.

I wish you luck!
