It's probably something to do with an accounting program . If that rings any bells , install again & remove from add / remove in Control Panel .
Next choice , it is still partly running some where , this is why you cant delete . Press Ctrl/Alt/Delete together & close everything except Explorer & Systray , now use Windows Find & Regedit Find to locate anything related to that program , then delete . John .

I need help!!!!!!! I purchased a Soyo motherboard pentium 450. And a ATX case and power supply. The power supply is dead, Itold the company where I got it and they sent me another one, which is dead too. Long story short
they sent me four of them, and all of them don't work. One power supply works sometimes if you take the power cord out then back in again and this only happens sometimes. Sometimes you get it just right and the cpu fan starts going and the hard drive kicks in.The other power supplys you get nothing not even the fan turning. One was brand new in the box unopened. Am I doing something wrong? How do you know if the motherboard is bad. All four power supplys can't be bad. Can anyone help.

I would advise you to be a little more cautious about deleting anything from the Windows/System folder until after you have done some further investigating. Have you uninstalled anything recently, or installed something that didn't seem to go right? If anything, you're usually better off renaming a suspect file, or moving it to a different folder to see what happens after the change. This way, if there are any disastrous effects, you can easily get things back to the way they were. Right-click on the filename in Windows Explorer and select Properties. If the hidden and/or system boxes are checked, that's why you can't delete the file. Otherwise something is trying (and failing) to load on Startup. If there is a "Version" tab, click it. Sometimes the Company Name or Version Name will give you a clue about where the program came from or what it does. It may just be left over from an incomplete uninstall. Post back if you need more help after you find out. You'll probably have to selectively disable Startup items, or delete the file from the DOS command prompt.

You clicked on "Post Reply" and your message ended up here. It's likely to get lost in the shuffle that way. Next time click "New Topic". http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif What size (wattage) is the power supply? Are you sure you are plugging in to a dependable wall outlet? Try a lamp in that socket, and then wiggle the cord to see if the bulb flickers. You would have to have incredibly bad luck to get four bad PS's in a row! Make sure the power supply connector is fully seated into the motherboard socket until it clicks and locks.
