I have an old compaq laptop running win95 and I'm trying to install a nic card. I downloaded the driver and it appears to install normally and then prompts me to reboot. However, when I reboot, device manager says the card doesn't have a driver installed. That is, the network device is displayed, but with a yellw exclamation point over it. I can do this over and over. Anybody take a guess at what the problem is?

Found the problem myself, thanks anyway.

Turns out that when the pc card is inserted, a yellow question mark appears in hardware manager. You install the driver to that device, vice creating a new one in network devices and installing it there.
