hi ya

ive asked in various forums and got sent here said this is where ill get help so here gos http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

just bought a new motherboard ASUS P3V4X and a P3 1gig/100mhz slot 1

i open the lid put it all together and when i connect it to the monitor i get nothing at all its as if the monitor isnt connected http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif
ive checked the wireing and that all boards in correctly(as far as i can tell)
i striped it down so just the ram P3 and graphics card are connected and get the same.
ive tried a second video card with no luck as well.

now its the first time ive attempted this and dont know much about technical bits but if anyone has any ideas i would really be happy http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Is the computer beeping when you turn it on? There are mobo beep codes that alert you to different problems...if you get a long beep when you turn it on the vid card may not be plugged in all the way...

Before you think "no dummy, it's plugged in all the way," make sure the metal end plate isn't being blocked by something (the tapered part that fits into the case slot) sometimes it takes a surprising amount of pressure to fit the card in correctly, it may be a good idea to lay the case on its side so you can apply enough pressure...

My wives system is based on the P3V4X.
it only supports up to 733 on the original bios and 800 with the new bios
and a daughter card for the flip chip at 133

Heres the link to the spec's page for the M/B
It loads slow

If you install anything over the 733 it is DOA. even an 800 on the old daughter card will not post.
