I get this massage when i swithch on my pc ....

i have PS/2 style and it is new... when i swithch on the PC just it is Flashing ..??and i can't enter windows 98

Check all connections and make sure that they are all tight. Check the keyboard for any keys that might be stuck.

When this happens to me [as it does now and again] I unplug my PS2 mouse from the socket at the back of the PC and plug it back in and the PC gives a single beep when I do this.
I then press/release the reset switch and it boots ok.

Is this a newer system or one that has been around and seen a lot of use? If it is a well used system, the contacts may simply be dirty. You can clean them by blowing them out or by using an alcohol swab (preferably about 90%) when they are not powered in any way. If it is a newer system, see comments above.:)
