I am having problems with my aol 6.0 . when i start my computor aol starts
loading by itself. Then when I close it down I can not start it bavk up
again with the icon or any other sourse. I have gotten error messages: like,
waol caused an invaled page fault in module kernel 32.dll at 017f:bff9dfff.
also aol tool error etc. I have tried redownloading aol 6.0 upgrade but no
change. Most of these problems started soon after I got my new computor:
eMachine 600\ eMonstor. I upgraded from aol 5.0 . thats when all the trouble
started. Can you help me?

**ps- it MAY not be your computer, 6.0 has had allot of problems ( for some)
hope this helps.

Hey Shauny,
A couple of things you can do is: 1)Go into Properties for AOL and disable the Auto Load option, and 2) Upgrade from a CD. I have seen hundreds of problems with the 6.0 download. I upgraded from 5.0 using the free CD and have had no problems.
You could also disable AOL from loading in your Taskbar at startup, either by deleting it from your Startup folder in WIN95, or by using MSCONFIG in WIN98.
I am a little hesitant to tell you to uninstall AOL 6.0 before you try the upgrade with the CD. I think it would be better in this case if you just re-install over the existing program. Of course, you should make sure your system is running smoothly in all other respects before trying to re-install, ie., run Scandisk and Defrag.
Also, and probably most importantly, disable any anti-virus software before trying to re-install.
Good luck. AOL is fine when all the bugs are worked out.
