Hi stephen64-
The obvious thing first. Have you cleaned your print nozzles? You can do this in the control panel in the driver for your printer.
My son has a lexmark and while it prints great photos, the nozzles seem to get clogged often..Especially if it is not used for a while.
Sometimes, cleaning through the software "clean nozzles" (In the cartridge maintanance section of your driver) won't cut it.
You have to physically remove the cartridges and carefully clean them with a sort cloth and warm water. (This is actually suggested in the "troubleshooting section" of your printer driver).
Finally, experiment with different "quality settings" in your printer driver.
Including selecting the correct paper type and try the highest quality setting when printing photos.
You also may be running low on one of the colors...There is an "ink level" pic in the cartridge matainance tab.
Last thing I can think of at the moment...Photo paper must be used on the proper side. If it's not glossy, sometimes it's hard to tell.
Good luck! :)

You might try a replacing the Black cartridge..a Lexmark I owned would do the same thing when the Black Ctg. got low and my Epson will leave red streaks when the black runs low. First though, like the previous post suggested, clean the ctgs printing surfaces....I usually used plain old rubbibg alcohol, let it sit on the printing surface for a couple of minutes, blotted them dty, reinstalled then ran the head cleaning routine a couple of times...Just a thought...Good luck...T
