Hi all,
After reinstalling 2k, I kept getting the Found New Hardware Wizard for a parallel device and after going through the Wizard, the end result is "Windows was unable to locate a driver for this device". Under Device Manager, Other Devices, Parallel Device, Properties, Driver, Driver Details I find this: drive letter\WINNT\system32\drivers\HPFECP12.sys (file version not available). I tried searching to find what HPFECP12.sys stood for. By the way printer works fine. Under 98SE no problems. My questions are: if the printer is ok, what other parallel device is 2k referring to? What is HPFECP12.sys? How can I resolve this problem?
Thanks for any input,
crcdove

It’s a driver for your HP 800 Deskjet
Have you installed the Printer drivers in 2K yet?
If not do so and the error should go away

Yes Rick, I did that. In fact that's what's puzzling me. Nevertheless, have you any idea what HPFECP12.sys is?

One of the dozen or so files in the driver package.....

I would probably Remove the HP in Device Manager and then reinstall when you log back on. Alternatively, you could reinstall using Update Driver, but it seems to work better if you remover the device first.

Good luck,
