I just finished my build!!!!! Every thing worked great, only
snag was floppy (Ididn't have power cable seated) I do
have one question. The installation instructions for MOBO
stated to put the RAM (if only have 1 stick) in Slot 0. There
were 2 diagrams supplied with MOBO showing the numbering system for the RAM slots. One of the diagrams showed slot 0 ro be located where the other showed slot 1. I guess I picked the wrong diagram since the BIOS shows the RAM in slot 1. Is this a problem to worry about? Do I need to go back in and change it?
The money (and my lack of patience) dictated that I settled for
the GE Force4 MX440 instead of the Ti4200 video card. Oh well
I can upgrade later.
Full ATX tower with 300W Power supply
Intel 845EBG2 MOBO
Western Digital (Model WD600BBRTL) 60GB Hard Drive
Lite-On 48X CD ROM
TDK 48X CDR (http://www.tdk.com/cdburners/velocd48x.html)
Star Logic Floppy
Creative Blaster Live 5.1 sound card
P4 2.26 GHz(533 FSB)
PC2100 DDR 512
GE Force 4 MX440 64MB Video card
(using my old monitor, keyboard and mouse for now)
Mad onion scores
CPU 5513
Memory 4736
HDD 957
Thanks for the help!!
It sure was a thrill when this baby powered up and accepted
the installation of the OS (Win XP pro)!!!
