Hi, thanks for the help yesterday! I already tried the usual, loading, reformatting etc. The problem is simple no doubt, but is still avaiding me. The root problem is an On Board serial Port 1 conflict? I think? Anyway a configuration problem in the hardware is not allowing Windows upgrade to complete. Any help is greatly appreciated. Any extensive help will get some cash through email(paypal)! Thanks

There are several thing that you can try one of whichis to pull each extra card and reboot each time until you find the conflicting card, aand then add them back in one at at time to see if there are any other conflicts. The basics that are needed to post are motherboard with CPU, power, RAM, video card, keyboard...to install an OS then you hard drive, cd drive and mouse in addition to the above list. Or you can enter the BIOS setup routine and disable COM1. Also returning the the default setup in BIOS may also help. And you can try here: Troubleshooting (http://www.pcguide.com/ts/index.htm) for some more detailed info for hunting down problems.
And if you really feel the need to spend some money for the help you get here try here for the PC Guide - Disk Edition (http://www.pcguide.com/disk/index-c.html) a guide to all the workings of your computer, by the guy who makes all of this possible.....
