I'm running an IBM 233 with windows 98. Everytime I try to boot up, it goes through the normal proceedures, i.e., ram check, etc. About a few weeks ago, I went to boot up, and after going through normal proceedures, it returned an error message. The only thing that appeared was 111 E000:0A74 in the upper left hand corner, and D6 in the upper right hand corner, similar to a DOS prompt. The only thing though, it remains unresponsive to keyboard strokes, and i'm pretty much stuck at this message. I've tried everything that I can think of. I've tried to post, to run setup, to run in safe mode, but nothing seems to work. I have a really bad feeling that my computer is toasted, but if theres any one out there who can help, please do so! Thanks!

Wow, "carthaginienses", how erudite and delightfully obscure! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Welcome to The PC Guide. Must be your lucky day. Well ... mostly. Not with the problem, but with the solution. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif I went to the Microsoft web site, clicked Support, Knowledge Base, selected Windows 98, typed E000 in the Question box, clicked Go, and guess what? It turned up this (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q130/0/18.asp)! Seems to solve the exact problem you're having. Now you know how to do it too. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif Post back if you have any trouble. Good Luck! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey! It's not doing anything! ??? I have no clue what's going on! Whenever I boot, even though I try to type keyboard commands, it never recognizes them. Every time I try to boot up, I always get that message I mentioned before. I've speculated that I have a virus and I need a windows boot up disk, but this happened once before. I booted up one night, and it gave me that message. Then, a few days later, I booted up, and guess what? No message! This is really confusing me! If the start-up disk doesn't work, i'm not sure what i'm going to do....
