hi, is there a way to make a modems dial up sound go through the external speakers of the computer? i was wondering about this after i heard my brother-in-laws modem dial up the other day. i have a lucent win modem that i would like to play with and see if i could do it like this. also the arrow on my modem volume does'nt seem to adjust the sound on my modem. what is the correct way to adjust volume on these lt win modems? thanks alot for any imput.

If the modem has a speaker jack, then just connect speakers to it.
Reduce the modem volume either in Device Manager or in Control Panel/Modems.

Are you getting other normal sound from the speakers?
