Got a problem I'm not sure about. Building a system here and when I shut it down it won't start up again untill I pull the power cord and plug it back in. I'm thinking this is a Power supply problem. It is an older case and it is only a 200 watt power supply and I'm putting it on a PIII. This could also be a mainboard problem. But once It's running it runs great. Reboots fine too. Help me decide. Have a new case coming anyhow. Also noticing that the CDrom isn't opening all the time. That could be the cdrom. It tries but won't.
What Mother Board are you running that P3 in ?
How many other devices ?
200 WATT Power supply is VERY small..
Is this a True ATX power supply and Mother board
Or a mix AT power supply and combo AT/ATX mother board ?
ATX is Soft power control AT isn't

The mainboard is a tyan 1854a. Disabled the sound and now running a Geforce 2 mx 400 64mb, Modem, intel net card, sound blaster live x-gamer, Cdrom, and floppy. The power supply is in a gateway case. aztec ATX202-3515 so it is a true ATX supply.

I wouldn't use anything less than a 300watt for what you're doing.

Oh, also make sure the power supply will fit. Gateway is a little proprietary.
