Hello all,
I just want to say that I believe all the registry errors in my previous postings and threads may all be stemming from the one problen with the registry. The problem is that when I install my Creative Sound blaster live! 1024 sound card drivers it doesn't install properly and blue screen VXD errors come up saying things like "-a fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C15942FB in VXD EMU10(01) + 0000B71B". I don't know much about this stuff but this seems to be due to a problem with one of the Soundblaster drivers which was installed from the Sound blaster CD to C:\windows\system\emu10k1.vxd . I found a page on the internet with a supposedly patched emu10k1.vxd driver but the link was dead so I have not received the patch. If anyone could help me out on this by sending me the correct patched vxd file or sending me a link to it I would be exxtremely appreciative. It will bring some sound back to my injured computer and I will be able to regain my sanity by at last being able to listen to mp3s and watch dvds on my computer. (My mp3s or sound won't play at all as the drivers won't install correctly)
