Got a camera and on the input for a adapter it says it takes a 5v adapter..
So i plug in a 6v adapter into it, could this blow the camera up??
IF so im in trouble

Most certainly it could! Not saying it will, but voltage numbers are there for a reason. What kind of camera is it? Film or digital? If it's digital, I would take that 6V adapter out of there right now until you can get some more info! My brother has a nice adjustable adapter that plugs in and outputs voltages such as 3.3V, 5V, 6V, 9V, 12V, etc. Only does 60Hz AC, but there should be something out there for DC if you need it.

it will damage your camera's components esp. those that requires only 5v of power supply.

The voltage might not be exactly good for it, but amoerage is what is more likely to damage components. AMperage is the strength of the current, higher amperage means stronger current even at the same voltage. OK that's not technically precise, but the best analogy I can think of at the moment...
Check the actual voltage of your adapter with a multimeter. I have 9v adapters for my guitar effects that range from 10v to 15.5 and they work fine. I didn't know the voltages were that varied until recently when I wanted to find a variable voltage one for another project, and found out they ranged from 1.1v to 15v or higher...then found out I'd been using one on my distortion pedal for 4 years at 15.5v...it's rated at 9v...but the amperage on all of them is within the requirements for the pedals, so I suppose they haven't done any damage...they all still work fine...

Yea I blew it , second time i have done it. And i wondered why it happened last time. I thought it was fried the last time because i left it outside in the heat. Guess it was the adapter that fried it. Well i would take it back but just decided to buy another one. Didnt want to go through the hassle.
