Far be it for me to ask questions, I've seem to have done pretty good on building my pc...but, I have this thing that bugs the crap out of me. Everytime I want to open windows explorer, my cdrom is accessed. Then, when it does come up...all my partitioned drives don't show up..just C:\Drive...clicking on refresh brings the correct tree but that's an annoying thing to do all the time. This also occurs when I try to access my run command to load something. Now, before you answer anything...this only happens if a CD is loaded in the drive, other than that...it works fine. Any ideas? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Try these:

Start > Run and delete anything in the Open dialog box, then click Close

Turn off Auto Insert Notification in Device Manager > CDROM > Properties > Settings

Clear Documents Menu, covered in Windows Help
