My CD Rom drive says "Drive not ready" when I put a CD in it. The light blinks on the drive but does not read it...

I have uninstalled the drivers and installed them checked the connections to make sure it was plugged in but it is still not working.

Can any one help????

Nina,

Is this an older drive? I have had some go bad and give that message. It may be time to replace your drive. Many quality drives are available for
$35 or less. Another consideration is that the cable could be defective or simply has given out. If you have a spare try it first.
