 I picked up an HP SK-2505 Keyboard at a sale, because I was having problems with my old one. I have the correct driver for it, but I do not know what the jack is for which is on the left end of the keyboard. Anybody know about this?

What does it look like? It is likely to be a USB port, but hard to say without seeing it.

I know what a USB port is. The jack a mini jack, like the ones to connect speakers, mics, to computer.

I believe that connection is actually for plugging into the line out of your sound card and then you can plug headphones directly into the keyboard and use it's volume controls.

Lots of funky features to that keyboard .My brother had one. They were fun when they came out.;)

Did you find the drivers for it? They are out there. I got my brother some by doing a Google search for HP SK-2505 drivers.

Have fun.

It is not for earphones -- I tried that. Does anyone out there have one of these keyboards. Perhaps they know what the thing is for. It's not critical, but I still would like to know what it's for. :) I did find a driver for it and can program the special shortcut buttons.

Like I said, my brother has one of these keyboards.

There should be two jacks, one for sending a line to your sound card and one for plugging headphones or a microphone in. Look around the topp side of the KB for the other jack.

I found out what the jack is for. It is for the headphones, so it must not be connected to the sound card properly. I'll check that out. Thanks to all for your responses. It is great to have this resource. I'm sure I shall avail myself of your assistance again. ;)
