hi there

i have a little problem...which i hoping somone can help me with. my tray for the cd/dvd-rom will not pop out anymore , once in awhile if i shut down and reboot it'll work for abit . is ther anyway to check and see if its software or hardware, aswell as an inexpensive way to fix it ?

If it works ok for a while, it sounds like it could be a software problem. Have you tried reloading the drivers? Also, I would wonder if you have anything else running in the background that might be interfering with the drive.

It looks like a firmware problem. Update the bios and download and install any firmware updates that are available for your computer. This should fix it.

I have also seen this happen if a disk is left in the drive......

And with a bad IDE cable.

thanx for all the great advice, but i think i'll start with gopi_vs's first . where can i find the upgrades for the driver's ?
if that won't work i'll reload the driver's .

Go to the web site of the maker, look for downloads and enter the model number. It should give you a list of downloads available for that drive.
