View Full Version : screen saver
What would cause a screen saver to lockup?
ctrl/alt/delete shows screen saver is not responding.

Not enough memory
Fragmented hard drive
Sound card incompatiabilty
Video card can't support the frame rates need to run it
Some others here might be able to add to the list, but my bet is on a fragmented hard drive.
Good luck http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Lots more info would help.
What version of Windows are you running?
What are your power management settings?
How much video RAM? Integrated or expansion card? Brand?
Is this a screensaver provided with Windows, or something like After Dark?
There are known problems with 'Pipes' and some video cards.

This computer only has 16 megs of ram,
I have installed a Rage II video card, because
that is all that was available(from the powers that
rule the company) and all attempts
to revive the onboard video have failed.I'm not
sure how to determine how much video ram, but I
was using "pipes" as a screen saver and I've changed
that and waiting to see if it locks up.
