I just put a system together using an Abit sa6r mother board, Pentium 3 1Gig,GeForce 2 Ultra video, 512 memory crucial... 2- 256m moduals...I've checked the video card it's OK, sometimes when I've remove one stick of memory it boots sometimes it boots with both sticks of memory and right now it doesn't boot at all. I've moved the memory into different bays too. I'm not sure if I have something set wrong in the BIOS? Can anyone give me an idea?

What prompted you to begin removing and replacing memory? Did you get a beep code or something, like an error message? Let's have some more info.

Do you have the same brand/type of memory (both sticks)? If not, this may be a problem. Make sure you put 1 stick in first - see if it works. Make sure that you put the stick in the first DIMM slot (usually DIMM 0). You may need to try one at a time, try one, if unsuccessful, try the other. Consult the users manual to find the first slot, if you are unsure which is the primary slot. Only connect the essentals, like the floopy, 1 hard drive, keyboard, mouse. See if you get it to boot, then install the second and see what happens. Some motherboards are finicky about which stick is used first. Crucial is a good brand. Works for me every time!
Oh, I assume that when you got the memory, you used the memory config. utility on the crucial website to choose the memory that works in your motherboard? www.crucial.com. (http://www.crucial.com.)
Good luck!
