What could be the cause of my system rebooting when I insert a floppy disk. I've looked for loose floppy drive connections but found none.
Thanks for any ideas.......Bill

I'm an idiot for even getting near this question, but here goes.
Something is causing your drive motor to jam up when the floppy is inserted and voltage is applied. The resulting current drawn by the motor is too much for your power supply to handle, and it is shutting down.
Sooo, whaddya think? Anybody else buy this? In any case, I'd replace the floppy first.

Make everything as simple as possible, but no simpler.
I couldn't come up with much of anything, so I'll buy it...check all the cables, and try swapping the drive...

Hey Dog, assuming you've not run across this before...I can say that is some excellent TS'ing detective-piecing-together-Sherlock-Holmes work http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I'm game for it.
