Every morning when my computer is turned on an alarm goes off and does not stop, I have to restart the computer about three times before it actually stops making that sound. It cannot be the battery for I have just changed it thinking it was that or the fan. The temperature I have crossed out of my list of possibilities being that it's as soon as it's turned on, therefore it's not warmed up enough for it to get too hot. Any suggestions as to what it may be?

More info please...

Motherboard, CPU, Operating System, memory, error messages, if any, and things like that are needed to help diagnose what's wrong.

No error messages - the computer just sounds the alarm and it won't boot up until the 3rd or sometimes fourth time of being turned on and off.

What motherboard & processor is this? Some have an alarm for the speed of the fan that may not sense the fan speed properly, or if the fan speed is not adequate. If you are sure that you have an adequate fan and heatsink, this alarm can be turned off in the bios settings. I had this problem with an Asus K7M. Does the computer boot all the way into Windows?

You should supply much more info about what the alarm sound is. Beeps or something else?

The alarm is a continuous sound - no beeps no pauses.
It's a K6/2 AMD 500
