Hello Tom,
You can format your floppy by going to "My conputer" then right clicking on the floppydrive icon and selecting "format".

To Bassman: I tried your advise But this is what came up on my screen! (it froze) At Top of screen it said ( Norton Anti Virus Auto Protect) then Under that it said THE APPLICATION C:\Windows\Explorer.exe is attempting Write to Boot Record of Drive A:. This action will not be allowed OK Could this somehow be a used disk or something? I got it brand New out of the Box! Please let me know what you think? Thanks Tom
Your problem right now seems to be that Norton Anti-Virus is preventingfrom wirting to the disk. The warning you received should give you an option to allow the procedure... writing to the boot record is what you want to do. That is what formatting a disk does, erases the current data and constructs a master boot record. Then the disk is ready to receive data. Your blank disks are probably ok, even pre-formatted, NAV just won't let you write to them...try turning off NAV until you are finished with copying your data to the disk.
A standard floppy is 1.44MB.
