Hi there. I'm currently using a Packard Bell 2160 monitor, which someone "gave" me (now i know why). On the connection, there's the standard pin type for the tower, but also a connector cord, much like would plug into the sound card. As the speakers on the monitor have their separate sound card connection, can someone tell me what this other connector is for? Thanks for your help!!

Could it be a microphone connector? Some monitors have a built-in microphone in addition to speakers. This would necessitate an extra connector.

Look for a couple of openings at the top center of the front of the monitor...
