Good Morning:

I have a system that does not want to wake-up in the morning, not unlike me.

My workstation is always on, except that I turn the monitior off in the evenings. If I turn the monitor on an then move the mouse the monitor's light quickly goes from green to amber. However, if I first move the mouse for about 2-3 seconds then turn the monitor on it will almost always comes on.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the APM settings in your BIOS? and in windows?
After checking the power cord, data cables, and Power Management settings, you should try adjusting the brightness and contrast knobs. Make sure you turn the brightness up as far as it will go, in order to make sure that you'll be able to see something. (You can always go back and adjust the brightness after you get the computer up and running again.) Are you letting power management shut down harddrives too??if so don't..setting may be conflicting??

Yoda:

The drive was being shut down after 1 hour. I set it to never. I'll know tommorrow morning if that was it. If not, I will try your other suggestions. Thanks!

Could be a display app running in the task bar. Some of them have problems with certain monitors and/or versions of Windows. Just something to check...

Like the ones that install with your video card? Could the lack of that app be the problem?

Could be a lack of it or a corruption of it. It may be worthwhile to Remove it from Safe Mode and reinstall a clean copy, especially if you can find an update first.
