Hi everybody,
letme tell you my problem: my video MV520 went all right for a few (2) years without problems but recently (two weeks ago) something strange appened; while I start up my pc and it booted up, nothing on the screen appeared althought it was turned on, and I noticed that it seemed like all the images on the screen where compressed in two or three pixel lines: but I ouldn't see practically anything. I'm not so keen on hardware and so I don't know exactly what it is: can you suggest me? Perhaps are the frequent sudden electricity stops often happen here, but I really don't know.

Thank you all for sudden answers

B. L. M.

From your description, it looks as if the video card is OK, but the monitor may require a quiet funeral!

Can you obtain another monitor to try? If another one works, then unless you can find a specialist to repair it, the old monitor is dead.

Repairs to a monitor can be more expensive than a new one, and although I have had some experience in electronics repair, I wouldn't touch one! voltages over 15-20 KV can make your eyes water

First I would try a monitor swap, either yours on another machine or another one on your machine. And defienitely both options if yours works elsewhere.
