Two questions first one concerns the CDR not being recognized in my computer as a drive just have A C and D the CDR is E it is working ok but was wondering why it doesn`t show up in my computer. The drive letter listed for it is Drive E.
Second question is can I download if I had the drive listed in my computer download files directly to a formatted drive E like you can to the floppy.
Before I am asked I am using 98 se.
I have used this on another computer and it is recognized on the other computer. just wondering if it is a motherboard problem. Thanks
Using packet writing software enables you to use a CD-RW like a big floppy, even download to it.
As for the drive not showing up could you explain it a little more clearly?
Where does it show a drive lettler and how do you know it works if it doesn't show in My Computer?

when I am talking about my computer I am talking about the icon on the desktop where it shows the drives plus control and other things my E drive is not shown there.
But if I have a file I want to send to something like A; drive or mail etc it is listed there. I also can make disks of data and music disks and it shows up in systems devices on the computer I just don`t have the ICON so if I want to download a file or a programme to the E drive I can`t as it isn`t listed.
Does this explain my problem better.
It also doesn`t show in the file on internet explorer under send to. Just on my C drive files.
Hopefully you understand my question better now.
