Ive just put together a duron 1.1 ghz pc with 128mb crucial ram and pc chips m810 mobo.

Ive just got the mobo (with built in video etc) memory and mobo all setup and try for first boot but there is nothing. There is no power. The keyboard light comes on when i plug the power cable in but its as if the power switch is not working. Ive checked the panel connectors and they seem fine. Ive chekced the front button connections and they too semm ok. This case with the psu i have used many times before and its always ok.

Not getting any power though. any ideas?

No Power: Fans Dead, Drives Dead
Possible Short, Bad Power Supply: Remove all components from motherboard (no CPU, memory, cables, cards). Test board outside case.

ya have pwr to the board seems the key board lites up but may not be enough pwr supply may be going south??

try this let us know what happens

Restart with bare minimum. Only the memory, processor,kb. double check the cables.

cheers for the input,

ran some more tests and turns out the jumper settings came with it on clear cmos rather than the normal setting. explains the lack of power, and once i booted it with the correct jumber settings everything was fine.

PC CHIPS 810LMR mobo user's- take note boards come with cmos jumper settings on "clear cmos" so that has to be changed to "normal mode". WHY???? very strange.

Normal mode is the jumper over pins 2 and 3 rather than 1 and 2 which is what it comes as standard. Hope this thread can help anyone like me in the future.
