My system is a 333Mhz Intel Pentium II MMX Processor i440LX chip set award bios V4.51PG Bios string i440LX-BD2A69JD49C-00
128MB SDRAM
Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.1998 With all available updates
Drive C: 14654MB (FAT32) Western Digital caviar 15 Gb 7200 rpm
Drive D: 7648MB (FAT32) Quantum Big Foot 8 Gb 5400 rpm
Drive E: IOMEGA Zipcd CD Rewrite Drive
Drive F: Toshiba DVDROM

In the POST memory test some times the bios doesn't find all my installed
ram. Sometimes it finds 32MB other times it finds 64MB and if I am lucky
it will find all 128MB

Bank 0 32MB DIMM
Bank 1 32MB DIMM
Bank 2 64MB DIMM

I have to watch the memory test every time to make sure it finds it all.
I found that if I hit the escape key to skip the memory test it finds all 128MB

also sometimes it will test the memory in a loop counting up to 128MB again and again the only way to stop this is to hit the escape key

Dont know how much difference it will make but are they all the same speed.

i.e 66mhz / 100mhz / 133mhz and what speed is your mobo.

Some machines will always test 2 or three times but not continuous, again point to a fault.

I agree with skhips, also, are all the memory chips the same brand? Finally, try inserting the memory from greatest mb to least (64 in dimm 0 and so on). Have you tried to upgrade the bios (flash). Look at the user's manual to see their recommendations for SDRAM config.

I agree with trying the 64MB chip in bank 0, but first, try each one by itself a few times and see how they act. Use bank 0. If one doesn't show the same amount every boot it's probably bad.

Also check the access speeds. The chips have numbers on them, the last number is the speed, in nanoseconds..usually will have a dash before it.

6=60ns
7=70ns
10=100ns
12=120ns
etc. If they are not the same that could be a problem. I don't have a spare SDRAM chip to give an example of the numbering scheme, you'll have to look...

This same problem showed up on a computer I built, it turned out bank 0 was mis-marked on the motherboard, so it was empty while the memory was going into slots 2&3 instead of 0&1. (72 pin SIMM)
