Where might one find some sort of Guide to BIOS Settings?
Is there a list of universal settings? Something like ...if you have this or that, put this setting at "10" or "ON" (or whatever)....
Or better yet a motherboard specific settings.
I got a guide off the web to a Epox 7KXA(?) board a few years ago that specified most of the settings. It was really helpful.
I plan on getting a new nForce board (EPOX, FIC, LEADTEK, or ASUS). If there is no Univeral Guide (or a good web site), does anyone know of a guide (or site) to one of these boards?

Thanks!!!1

I just bought an Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. The manual that came with it is quite lengthy on the BIOS settings.

For general information, here is a great site to visit:

There a plenty more out there. Do a Googly on "BIOS Optimization" or similar. You'll have more reading that you want.

But to answer your question about specific optimal settings for any particular motherboard, the manual that comes with it is the first place to start. Granted, some manuals are written much better than others. I'm very impressed with the one from Asus. I have owned or still do own motherboards from MSI, Soyo, Gigabyte, FIC, etc. and the Asus manual tops them all.

Also many the optimizations are based on the chipset you are running. So, some of them would still hold true if you are upgrading to a later VIA chipset, for example.

But like BB said the place to start is the manual.
