My mouse and keyboard (both are PS2) stop responding after several minutes of operation. I still can remote the PC from other PC, though. After restarting, the PC buzzes in high pitch on POST and booting. Keyboard and Mouse are not detected. If I unplug and plug, it will work but will stop working again. Have tried to swap the keyboard and mouse, have checked the IRQ conflict, have tried serial mouse but no solution.

The motherboard is Microstar K7T Pro2-A and the processor is Duron 700.

Thanks in advance.

Hello sheen, and welcome to PC Guide forum http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Sounds like a motherboard problem to me, have you or anyone ever unplugged the mouse/keyboard while it was running? if so then the controller chip(s) on the mobo for PS/2 connections may have been damaged.

Hi iisbob, thanks http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Unfortunately, your guess is right http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif I've unplugged it once while it was running. Is there any solution to fix it?

Kind Sir... Murphy's Law has caught up with you on this one. The damage has been done. Any way you can RMA that Mboard with MSI? By the way the PRO2-A is an excellent Mboard.
