ther are some PC apps, especially that do not have an EAX enabling option and causes some sound distortions such as buzzing. can this be remedied? Using a SB Live 5.1 Asian Ed. WHat exactly is EAX? Is it better than Dolby or are they two different types of things?

Gosh, the soundblaster.com website has a confusing set of drivers to choose from.

EAX is/was another 3d sound creation method, competitor to Dolby. It was used on Aureal sound cards, until Aureal folded and Creative bought it.

As far as compatability issues, it should be one of those if it can use it it will be an option, but of course that is not always the case. If Dolby is an option, select that or you may even have to drop to straight software and use the DirectX sound...
