I tried to install the Intel D850EMV motherboard and I am having some problem with it. It seems that there's some incompatibility problem with the motherboard and harddisk.
I have using an Intel D850EMV motherboard, 2pcs 128 MB RDRAM, Intel P4 2.4 Ghz processor, Inno 3d GeForce4 64MB SDR. I partitioned that harddrive into 40% and 60%. And Installed Windows 98 on drive c.
Everything goes well on installing the windows 98 software. But when I tried to install the video driver, the partitioned that I have made were all gone.
So I reformatted the HDD and then install it back. This time, I was able to install the video driver. And all the other software are installed. But when I tried to run scandisk, I get the blue screen of death. It also gets the blue screen when I open MS Office.
I reformatted and installed windows the third time. This time, I only installed the sound driver of the motherboard. I didn't get the problems stated above but I got another problem. It loads too slow when opening windows 98. It seems like I have to wait around 5 minutes before I can start using windows 98.
I tried a seagate and maxtor harddisk and both didn't work well.
Are there any settings to change in order for this problems to be gone?
Does it have something to do with the jumpers?
