I need some help with my printer. I use Windows 98, 64 meg of ram, IBM computer i guess, Canon bubble jet printer (bic 2000) Everytime I try to print something I get an error meassage that says the ink cartride in not in correctly. It says install the BJ cartridge properly and close the printer's front cover. I take it out, reseat it over and over again closing the front cover each time to no avail.I tried wiping it clean but that did not help either. I thought it might be out of ink, but when it is out of ink it says so. Wonder if anyone has any ideas. I do not want to buy an ink cartridge and then find out i won't be able to use it! The printer is about three years or so old!My e mail addy is removed for antiSPAM:confused:

It sounds to me like you are not seating the cartridge properly, it will probably click when it is in place. Printers are very picky about getting it seated properly since the printing would be way off if it isn't. The other possibility is that it is misaligned and then you have to consider whether to replace or repair. Given the cost of printers today, replace is likely to be cheaper.

As an aside: unless you are really fond of SPAM, it is not a good idea to post your private email address in a public forum....

If this cartridge has been refilled, then it may inded be time for a new one.
