I'm reading this from the screen.

ok this is what happens, When I turn on my pc and it starts to boot
up... it says 1st
Floppy A Installed
then its says
Insert bootable media in the appropriate drive
?????? what the hell is that????
it happened a few times b4, but then sometimes it goes thru... also
maybe u need to know this.. U know when it scans the drive? well I let
it scan and it found 1 bad cluster... it asked if I want it to be fix..
so I click yes.... ok it did whatever it did.. moving the bad cluster to
a place in the drive I dont use or whatever. I try to keep my Pc on so I
wont go thru this. but at times when I'm on the net it freezes and I try
to end task by pressing Ctrl Alt and delete... but sometimes that doesnt
work at all.. so I press the reset buttom!
and I'm back to that stupid statement. after that statement is the
cursor flashing but when i press any key it just comes up again... what
can I do????..

Have you rebooted this system latley? i've had this prob. w/mine once before it was on account of i down loaded a file onto floppy and system would hang up on me.{freeze). try a hard shut down leave it off for 15 minutes then reboot. or try just shut down & instant restart. Are you getting any Error messages w/ this? if this does not work get back to us here some one might come up with something easyer but i ended up having to do a restore http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif was not fun! but good experiance

The message is caused by the system Not being able to find the boot record on your hard drive.

You may have a corrupted boot sector or boot record.

You may be able to solve this by creating a Boot disk in windows
Then shutdown/reboot with the floppy disk in the drive.

At the dos prompt a:\ type in c: to change to the hard drive.
Then use the command “fdisk /mbr “ without the quotes .

This will restore the Master boot record from a backup copy on your drive.
Remove the floppy disk and reboot.

If you find this does not help you can use the same boot disk and from the A:\ prompt reinstall the system files to your hard drive by using the command “sys c:”

This will copy the 3 needed files to your hard drive (IO.SYS MSDOS.SYS and Command.com)
and should allow you to boot from the Hard drive again,

If this fails to correct the error you may have a hard drive failing or controller card problem.
Or it may be nothing more than a loose connection at the drive or controller card.
