HOW do you resolve a resource conflict?

My Programmable Interupt controller is listed as having a resource conflict with the Mitsumi cdrom controller. What do I do?

Boot into Safe Mode, go to Device manager, remove the conflicting device, and any "ghost" devices. Reboot and let Windows reinstall it.

How do you know if something's a ghost device? :confused: Still learning.

Generally if you have more than one of a device listed in Device Manager and you only actually have one device, it is a ghost device you have removed the device, but still find the drivers, that would also be a ghost. Sometimes you accidently install more than one driver, sometimes you forget to remove the driver when you remove the device and sometimes computer poltergeist haunt your computer...:eek: :eek: :D
