I have an HP 6465 which always worked fine. At some point it started powering itself back on right after a shutdown. When I click on start / shutdown it goes through the process and you see the screen it is okay to power off the computer and then it powers off like it always did. Then as soon as the power lights go off the computer starts back up. To actually power off the computer now I have to wait until it starts to reboot and then hit the power off button.

Just an update that this was happening with Windows 98 but this weekend I reformated the hard drive and installed Windows me from scratch and I'm having the problem again.
