In cleaning out a bunch of old junk, I came across a box of new 4-pin DIN cables. They look just about like the miniDIN S-video cables, but are full-size DINs. I have tried, so far with no luck, to find out what their application is. I wondered if anyone here might know.

Deddard,
Those look like low impedance XLR michrophone cords...? If they're Belden I'm interested...
Otherwise what I find is (click on the pic)...

No, these are not Belden, although I think I have some of that brand (and Mohawk) among the CAT5 RJ45 network cables I am in the process of listing on ebay (if and when I find the time!). I have looked around the web to see if I could find an application for these DIN cables. Although there is not a great deal of detail in the pictures, there are similar looking cables relating to Apple printers, VHS surveillance equipment, and subwoofer audio cable advertisements. They are the same diameter as the older IBM keyboard connectors, but with 4 pins instead of five. I tried to attach a photo here but I guess the jpg file was too big. Maybe I should just put a half-dozen of them on ebay under "miscellaneous electronics" and, if someone bids on them, I can ask them what they plan to use them for.

They look just like the ones in Deddard's link. They are 3 ft. (.9 M) with nickel-plated connectors. On the wiring, it says " JAY AN RU E146924 AWM 2464 VW-1 80(degree)Celsius 300V 20AWG CSA LL101096 AWM A/B I/II" etc.
