Well guys,

Outta the fryin' pan and into the fire so to speak. I am glad my new CD/Rw is up and running now, but I have a new probem.

My DVD/ROM which is a Shuttle brand 10x, will only play cd's. It will not play DVD's? It came with a program called Cyberlink Power DVD 2.55.


Anyone know why it'll only play CD's and not DVD's? Originally it would play them and then one day it just stopped recognizing them.

Have you checked in Device Manager to see if there are any conflicts? All the stuff you did to get the CDRW going may have impacted the DVD. You may have to uninstall it in Safe Mode and reinstall, making sure to also uninstall the DVD software you have and reinstall that too.
