When I boot my computer, the WINDOWS2000 screen just "stays put" for over three minutes before it goes away as other usual computers...Could you please tell me what posibily leads my computer speed to that slow status ? How can I fix it :( ? My compter speed is 800mhz, there still over 16gb memory left.
I am sorry I am really bad at computer programming and hardware problems. Please help me...
Thank you very much.
Regards,
Nina.

Welcome to the PC Guide forum!
Could be a number of things that are causing the fault- but sounds like windows could either be overloaded or the hard disk is faulty.
A reinstall of Windows is the ultimate cure----- prior to that try a Defragment of it by clicking on:
START-PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS - DISK DEFRAGMANT.

Do you routinely dump your Temporary Internet Files? I'm not sure what you need to do to check what programs you have loading at Startup...I don't use Win2k...
It's possible that what RAM you think you have might be aping "Gone With The Wind!" :(
Could you provide some system specs? RAM amount etc...
Also, does this machine show any other problems?
Had it been connected to a network? does it have a network card installed?
What is running in the background?
You can answer some of the above questions by running HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/) (tutorial (http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt) ). Post the log from it here...
