New Build, My first time. All new hardware. Abit KD7 MB, Athlon 2000+
CPU, Mushkin 512MB CL2 Blue memory, WD 80G HD,Siluro Video card, Sony
CD-RW 52x24x52, 300W Antec case. Power supply works, all cable connections good, all lights and fans work, all jumpers checked, HD
diagnosed O.K. without error. Video O.K. No changes in Bios. I did clear CMOS. When system is turned on, all hardware recognized, updates ESCD - success, Verifies DMI pool data - update success. Then the dreaded message, "Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk & Press Enter" When I do that the same message appears. That's as far as I get. The MB came with one CD which includes user manual, drives, etc.-nothing on label about boot or start system disk. Could there be another CD or boot floopy missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Don Ramsey, welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif forums.

First the obvious question that I didn't see covered in your post. Have you installed an operating system? The cd that came with your motherboard prolly isn't going to boot. It's there to make windoze work better with your motherboard, install some junk that get's bundled with the onboard audio drivers, and maybe have some help files.

Assuming that you have a copy of Windoze to install, you can download a Startup boot floppy HERE (http://www.bootdisk.com) You use that to boot into DOS with CD support (make sure you download one with CD support) and then run the Windoze CD. You may also be able to simply set the CD to boot from in BIOS and boot/install directly from the CD. I would probably try that first.
