Problem with screen display monitor.On booting up, screen display goes blank.
Have replaced power cable from hard drive to the the monitor.In addition have replaced the faulty monitor with a working monitor, with no problem, displays okay.
It looks like a repair job for the local computer shop.Any suggestions before I action the visit.Maybe its designated for the scrap bin!

It would probably cost more to get the old monitor fixed, than it would to just buy a new one. Or, maybe you can find a used one somewhere. You could also try these two sites for some good US $ prices:
