I cant get a startup disk to write enough info to HDD to fdisk and format.
It (the computer)stalls after,
MS ramdrive ver.3.06 virtual disk http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
disk size: 2048
sector size:512 allocation size:2 sectors
directory entries: 64 ,is loaded.

I did a low level format to a 2gig ibm HDD.Using the Adaptec bus utility.
So after a LLF and every thing looks good from what the 2940adaptec utility shows.whats next? I cant get my boot disk any of them including UBD to work.It seems the drivers wont load.
I've been looking, But haven't found a whats next.

First I used The Adaptec utility to format. then Igot IBM's drive fitness test and ran all test on both HDD (the one in ? is an ibm the other is a 1gig NEC found no errors.)All OK. I ran from the utilities on the drive fitness test, erase disk, erase boot sector in that order. Now I still cant get the boot process going , do I need a special boot disk? Do I need to remove the other HDD ? This was an operating computer in my home network that someone gave me without an operating system and though others generousity I had a SCSI that worked very well .Any way I'd like it up And running !
I cant fdisk format or anthing. Now it will allow
everything for the IBM DFT (drive fitness test) to run. Do I need a different boot disk ?

I NEVER HAD COMPUTER TROUBLE TILL I GOT ONE.
