ok when you reply do'nt use quote button just confuses things. you have system restore on that i know i run W/ME go to start>programs>accessories>
system tools>at the bottom you will see sys.restore click on it.you will see a calender pick a day before this started and follow the instructions.this should fix the problem .post back if we can help some more.And welcome to PC Guide Discusions. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

well you have three possable problems
1.driver problem/which you can down load from microsoft
2.power supply might be going bad
3.unit is over heating/check fans make sure there running

i would take the cover off the case look inside while it's running being very carful,make sure fans are running and look to see how much dust is inside.if you need to clean out dust turn unit off unplug every thing donot stick any thing metal inside,make sure every thing is seated properly.and then go from there stick around i'm sure someone has some more ideas.

Hi;

Has Windows ME always been on this system?

Does it happen when surfing web pages, or with all applications?

Have you been using defrag and disk cleanup to clear out the system?

If not, I would do the disk clean up and then defrag and see what happens.

Is the hard drive filling up? Go to my computer and click once on drive C and see how much disk space is being used compared to the total disk space you have.

I USED DISK DEFRSG AND CLEAN UP. IT HAPPENS WHEN SURFING. THE SCROOL TAD WONT WORK AND THE LITTLT POINTER WONT SHOW ITS FINGERS FOR A WHILE. PLENTY OF ROOM ON DISK,

Wendy: Did you get this fixed? Been puzzling over it for a couple of days. I am wondering if you have an ISP or modem problem. Puzzled by the pointer oddness, but husband has modem problems and his pages seem to "freeze" (scrolling doesn't work..just sort of "hangs" there for over a minute) in a similar manner. Are you getting disconnected more often than before?

Without error messages, don't know if the IE Repair tool utility will do any good, but you could check How to use I.E. 5.5 Repair tool (http://uscash.net/tips/expl5repair.html). Link there takes you to the Microsoft database too. Doesn't specifically ever mention ME...but thought ME includes IE 5.5?

Wendy: Cool! Cuz if it was a modem problem, would have had to go fetch a teacher. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yoda: Think printers take a lot of system resources. Even my keyboard arrow keys work slower while printing. I can't do anything at all while printing a pic on glossy...it's like watching grass grow!

Kay and Yoda: Do you have your printer properties set to "Print Directly to Printer"???? If so, try spooling your print jobs. Maybe that will help. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
