I have winme installed. After improper shutdown instead of scandisk the computer starts in safemode. It is disturbing. Please let me know how the scan disk will start automatically after improper shutdown. In the system configuration utility/advanced, disble scandisk after bad shutdown is not checked.

If the computer is heading into SAFE MODE upon reboot it's possible that you have an IRQ problem. When in safe mode take a look at your DEVICE MANAGER and see if you find any QUESTION MARKS or EXCLAMATIONS. You can get to the DEVICE MANAGER by right clicking on the MY COMPUTER on your desktop and then clicking on PROPERTIES. Please post back what you find if anything.
