View Full Version : mp3 voices sounds like mice

when ever I play my mp3 files the singer voices sound like mice. I haven't added any new programs or changed any media config. .My system is a P4 2.1GH,512RAM,win 98SE. I haven't played any mp3's for weeks. I just download a song from a friend who recorded a song and when I played it he sounded like a mouse. Whats up??

What sound card do you have? What media player where you using.

The sound is built into the mother board and called Avance AC97 Audio and the player is RealOne Player.I also use Windows Media Player and it does the same thing,(mousie voice)

I forgot to tell you that when I play a music CD the sound comes out ok. no mice.
Probably this is a dumb answer but, do you already try to update yor audio drivers.
I also remember that once on a friend machine, he had an integrated audio and the CD that comes with the motherboard drivers contain drivers for several models of audio devices, so if you select the wrong one, the audio sound weird or like you said, like mice, probably try with a different driver or look at the model of the audio chip in your MoBo and search for the drivers in the web

Your right!!! The one thing I preach and failed to do my self."When a program has a glich and acts unusual,reinstall it to replace any bad or missing files." It took care of the problem. I'd like to thank you guys for the quick response I got .Thanks again
